Get Ready for the Fall Semester at COC’s Welcome Day!
The start of a new academic year is right around the corner at College of the Canyons and we are excited to welcome students to our campuses for the fall 2022 semester!
With more than 1,800 classes available, we have a lot to offer. To make sure everyone who wants to enroll has the opportunity to make the most of what we have available, we’re hosting Welcome Day on Friday, August 12.
The event is free and open to the community. Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Welcome Day is designed for new students and their families, as well as anyone thinking about taking classes at College of the Canyons to get ready for the upcoming fall semester.
If you already signed up for fall classes, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow students, connect with professors, explore majors, and learn more about campus life and student support programs and resources that can help you enjoy the college experience and excel in your classes.
If you’re still deciding whether to attend classes this fall, then be sure to join us for Welcome Day. You can tour the Valencia Campus and learn more about the 250 degrees and certificates we offer. And, you can receive personalized help with questions about applying or financial aid.
The best part about Welcome Day? Parking is free, and so is lunch!
This fall promises to be one of our most exciting semesters at College of the Canyons. We have expanded the number of in-person, on-campus classes for students who prefer to learn in a classroom environment. That includes the Canyon Country campus, where the new Takeda Science Center will feature a wide variety of classes in new, high-tech labs.
Attending college while juggling work and family responsibilities can be challenging, so we’re offering classes in the formats that make sense for your schedule. The fall schedule includes online classes, which can be completed on your own time. We also feature OnlineLIVE classes that meet on Zoom at scheduled times. Hybrid classes give you the best of both worlds, mixing in-person and online learning. Take advantage of the flexibility of distance learning and find the right mix of classes that fit your life.
Many students worry about paying for college, but with enrollment fees at just $46 per unit, College of the Canyons delivers a high-quality education at an affordable cost. We offer numerous financial aid options, including a new payment plan that can help you manage your college expenses.
We’re also working to keep textbooks affordable. Many of our classes use Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) course materials, saving you the expense of buying traditional high-cost books. In fact, students saved more than $5 million in textbook costs last year thanks to more and more faculty choosing to use ZTC in their classes.
Whether you are thinking of taking an online class or enrolling in an in-person class at our Valencia or Canyon Country campuses, there’s still time to get going. Join us at Welcome Day and let’s make sure you are on track for success this fall!
The good news is that you don’t have to wait until Welcome Day to get started—you can register today! Visit www.canyons.edu to learn more and begin the registration process.
