Meet the Candidate Cherise Moore Running for William S. Hart District Board Area 3
Dr. Cherise Moore, an experienced educational leader with a proven students first, parents-as-partners record is asking for your vote for her re-election to the William S. Hart Union High School District Board, Trustee Area 3 on November 8.
Cherise is focused on ensuring school safety by prioritizing campus safety and emotional well-being to keep schools safe; educational excellence advocating for every student to be opportunity ready by attaining the world-class education they deserve; elevating equity to equip students with the tools necessary to succeed; engaging families through increasing communications and strengthening parents-as-partners, so that parents feel welcome, are heard, and know how to advocate for their children; and economic responsibility by safeguarding our community’s tax dollars.
Cherise has a record of delivering for students, staff and families. As Board President, she led the Hart District through the COVID-19 crisis. During her five-year tenure on the board, she has worked tirelessly to advocate for students, staff and schools. Her actions led to the development of our Strategic Plan and board governance procedures, and strengthened relationships with labor groups. Cherise initiated and opened Wellness Centers on all campuses. She also expanded educational options for students in athletics, visual and performing arts, and career technical education. Most importantly, she has engaged parents, students and community members in courageous and difficult conversations to address and resolve challenging issues facing the District.
Cherise is a parent and an educator. She’s the only candidate of a current school-age child and the only candidate who has been a teacher and administrator in the Hart District. She brings this background to the Hart District Board. Cherise and her husband, Navy Veteran Paul Charles, have lived in Santa Clarita for nearly 20 years.
