Meet the Candidate Chris Trunkey Running for Saugus Union School District

It has been an honor to represent you on the Saugus Union School District Governing Board since 2014. Since then our school district has had many accomplishments:
14 of our 15 schools have achieved Gold Ribbon recognition by the California Department of Education.
We have initiated and completed numerous modernization projects to provide the 21st-century learning experience our students deserve. Projects include the new classroom building at Plum Canyon, new classroom buildings at Skyblue Mesa and Rosedell, currently under construction, and the new MPR at Cedarcreek.
We have improved safety and security with single points-of-entry, our RAPTOR visitor management system for background checks and PBIS, Positive Behavior Interventions, and Supports.
We have complete transparency with our parents and community through our open meetings that now include remote participation via Zoom for parents that cannot attend in person.
Most importantly, we have implemented Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to increase student interventions for mental health and academic supports and services along with a focus on student and staff well-being.
