Your Story is My Story
My client and now friend, Melissa was trying to sell her house as a For Sale By Owner last May. After weekends of holding Open Houses and no offers she realized she needed the help of a professional realtor. Melissa was referred to me by another one of my clients. I dropped by her Open House, gave her some pointers and told her to call me if she needed any help.
Life was great for sellers the last couple of years. It felt like all you had to do was whisper you’re selling your house and it was SOLD! Little did we know what was around the corner, how fast things changed. With interest rates increasing and the uncertainty of the economy buyers were becoming apprehensive and put the brakes on.
I stayed in touch with Melissa, eventually she called realizing she couldn’t do it on her own. We met, discussed and implemented a plan. We knew her house needed to get the best exposure to bring in the most qualified buyers. In my opinion, pricing your house and how your house is presented on the internet are the two most important things to pique buyer’s interest. I held an Open House every weekend and no offers. We realized we needed to pivot to a market that was rapidly changing. We dropped the price hoping it would bring in more showings. Melissa was frustrated, understandably so, but her goal was to move to Indiana to be closer to her family. Melissa understood that her home of twelve years is now a house to be used to get her to her goal. We finally started getting showings, ultimately offers and finally she accepted an all cash offer and we closed in two weeks.
Melissa and I have stayed in touch and are now lifetime friends. I’m happy to say she bought a home in Indiana and is living on an acre in the cutest house that has been totally remodeled. She’s ecstatic to say the least. I get pictures all the time of their fishing spots, the new gardens and all their touches they’re doing to make it their home. This is why I love what I do. It’s more to me than just selling a house, it’s changing client’s lives, helping them with whatever new adventures lie ahead. Thank you Melissa for making your story part of my story! If you’re thinking of making a move or just wanting to discuss real estate, let’s talk. I’d be happy to help. Call or text, (661) 645-1334.
