I started in the mortgage industry in January of 1999 when mortgage rates were coming down and everyone had just refinanced to a low rate of 6.75%. It was a challenge starting a new business after being in the banking industry as a branch manager for over 15 years and knowing that everyone had just refinanced to the lowest rates people had seen in a long time. But I was determined to make this business work as I had found a passion for helping and educating people through the mortgage and real estate process, so much so that I wrote a book called “How to Have a Stress Free Mortgage.”
Over my 23 years in the business, I have closed over 3500 loans for over 800 million dollars and as a mortgage broker, I am ranked in the industry in the top .5% of mortgage originators in the county. I am a Certified Mortgage Consultant as well as a Certified Veterans Lending Specialist. My philosophy is simple: buying or refinancing a home typically only happens a few times and although it can be stressful, my team and I work to take that stress away from the client, although we certainly keep that stress for ourselves!
Although the rates now are higher, there are many ways to get a lower rate creatively and I work with many borrowers that need someone to think out of the box to help. We specialize with borrowers who are self-employed, first-time home buyers, members of the entertainment industry, law enforcement and the military to name a few. We help people who have challenges with income and or credit issues.
