The Joys of Giving

It’s that time of the year. A time to reflect, a time to give, and an opportunity to make these times a little better for those in need. We are reminded, on a daily basis, the stress and pressures of everyday living, and for those who are in great need during the holidays, it can pose extra challenges. Hopefully, for those of us who are blessed with a little extra abundance, we have this month packed with opportunities to give and make a difference in other people’s lives.
While the Santa Clarita Valley is considered an affluent area, there are still many families struggling to make ends meet. This holiday season, we suggest 12 local and national charities to help celebrate the 12 days of Christmas as well as Hanukkah, and of course the holiday that you may celebrate. Check out Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley, The Boys and Girls Club, Michael Hoefflin Foundation, Santa’s Helpers SCV, Suenos De Yarali, Assistance League of Santa Clarita, Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, A Light Of Hope, Save the Children, St. Jude, Make-a-Wish, and Unicef. You can request your donation to some of these larger charities to support the local Santa Clarita area. Of course, when selecting your charity, do your homework, check them out this will help you make the best decision. And “Yes, giving is better than receiving”. Thinking about giving doesn’t get it done, just do it, and enjoy the joys of giving.
