A Note From the Publishers – January 2023
Don’t you just love our cover? We are all in great hands with this wonderful group of individuals, such a power group, which includes Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Captain Justin Diez, President and CEO of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Roger Seaver, Los Angeles Fire Department Division V1 Acting Fire Chief Pat Sprengel, CHP Captain Ed Krusey and Santa Clarita City Councilmember and Mayor Jason Gibbs. Thank you, gentlemen for finding time in your very busy schedules to stop for a photograph with us and to share your thoughts and goals for 2023. We have you all to thank for our safety in all aspects of life! Turn to page 22 for more information.
This is our 33rd year of publishing the Santa Clarita Magazine, and our 374th issue! We consider ourselves very fortunate to have landed in “Awesome Town” some 38 years ago, it didn’t choose us, we chose the SCV and all the wonderful things we found here and have come to love over the years. We have also reached quite a milestone with our second publication, élite Magazine, celebrating 20 years with our January/February issue, it’s really quite remarkable! We couldn’t have done this without our very loyal advertisers who have continued to support us through thick and thin. This is especially true when considering what happened in 2020/21/22, the years that no one will ever forget. We have advertisers that didn’t know if they would be able to open their doors, but still supported us, how can we thank them enough? There are really no words, but we would like to ask our readers a very big favor, please support our advertisers, these small locally owned businesses are the backbone of our community!
When we first started this publication, we had no idea just how driven the SCV non-profits were. To this day, we still find ourselves at two or maybe even three different events a week, it’s sometimes impossible to plan anything without clashing dates! But think about how many people they have helped throughout the years. We are so fortunate to have them in our lives, and we have always put them in the forefront as far as promotion and support is concerned. Again, we are now asking our readers for their support, please turn to page 24, where you will find the start of our five page 2023 “Non-Profit Wish List” take a look at some of the items that our local non-profits need you may have something hanging around at home that you no longer use or need, some of the items are small such as knitting needles, cutting mats, sewing machines and of course monetary donations and gift cards are always appreciated. We hope you can help!
We are so pleased to announce our 9th Annual Ladies in Business winners in our January/February issue of elite Magazine, if you see them out and about, don’t forget to congratulate them and say you saw them in elite. If you are not getting your copy of elite Magazine or Santa Clarita Magazine, please subscribe at our website or give us a call to have your name added to our distribution list.
We wish you a Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come
