It requires meticulous floor prep: Good surface preparation is the key to the material properly penetrating and adhering to the surface. The floor will have to be chemically treated with a commercial-grade degreaser. It will be necessary to grind the surface down to open the concrete floors mechanically. Polyurea is tricky to work with: Polyurea is extremely unforgiving, and it’s cures FAST. A polyurea floor system includes a basecoat, a blend of flakes, and a polyurea topcoat. That gives you three opportunities to make a mistake. You’ll have one shot to apply it right.
