Your Story is My Story – Life Happens!

I met Serkan when he was four years old. He was in the kindergarten class with our son, Russ. I received a call from the counseling office telling me that my son was bothering Serkan. That was the start of a brotherly friendship that still exists today at their ages of 41. Serkan lost his mother when he was a little boy, he was raised by his wonderful father, Inayet and doted on by all his relatives. It took a village, so much love in their family. Our families became one big family, we’d have barbecues, they’d play street hockey until the sundown, school carpools, and always taking Serkan on vacation with us. In Junior High Serkan watched the Emergency Room reality shows for hours, always wanting to be a doctor. My son was on his computer landing planes all over the country, wanting to be a pilot. Fast forward to last year. I received a call from Doctor Serkan practicing in Seattle, WA. He’s ready to sell his childhood home in Studio City. He had relatives living in the home for years, it was a delicate and bittersweet situation for all of us, it’s the next chapter of life. Both boys, now men, have beautiful families of their own and successful careers. Our son, a commercial airline pilot, actually flew Serkan to Vegas for his bachelor party. I feel honored that Serkan reached out to me to help him sell his childhood home, it touched my heart. He knows we will always be there for him, he is family. We cherish those wonderful moments and memories. His story continues to be my story. This is what I love about real estate, it’s helping people and being there for them in all kinds of situations.
