Springtime – The Gentle Barn
At The Gentle Barn, there is much to do daily and seasonally to care for our animals. In our barnyard, we are preparing for Spring. We are booking equine dental exams, cow hoof trims, sheep, llama, and alpaca haircuts, our veterinarians to come out and give vaccines, and we are turning in fecal samples for all 200 rescued animals across three locations to ensure everyone is healthy and parasite free. In addition, we are ordering new fly masks for our horses, donkeys, and cows to protect their eyes from flies and shield them from the sun’s rays. We even have a special one designed for our California girl, Faith, who is blind. This fancy fly mask is extra thick and protects her from bumping into things she cannot see.
With 130 animals in Santa Clarita alone and no grass, we must order a lot of hay throughout the year. Therefore, we are launching our spring hay campaign, asking people to donate a bale of hay. To support our efforts to rescue and rehabilitate animals with nowhere else to go, please donate at gentlebarn.org or come out and visit us soon!
The Gentle Barn is a national non-profit organization in Santa Clarita, California, with locations in St. Louis, Missouri, Nashville, Tennessee, and one soon in New York. We are home to animals rescued from trauma and host to people with the same stories. We are open to the public on Sundays and host private tours, field trips, birthday parties, and cow hug therapy sessions. For more, follow The Gentle Barn on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, and YouTube. To visit and donate, go to www.gentlebarn.org.
