Your Story is My Story – April 2023
Every month I write about my clients and how I help them find their perfect home. I receive so many wonderful comments, mostly saying how much they love the personal stories. Helping my clients, my friends sell and find their new home is what I love doing. While looking at homes with my buyers, I tell them, “I can’t sell you this house, the house will sell itself. All I can do is listen to what your needs and wants are, then show you homes.” Sometimes it could be the first house, the ninth and sometimes the 28th, but when they find that perfect home they know! There’s this magical moment when they walk in the front door, before they’ve seen the whole house and it hits them, “This is it!” This is the moment I love. Then I watch my clients visually move in. They might start figuring out where the Christmas tree will go, they talk about the big kitchen and how they can have parties for the kids, sometimes the children run around picking out their bedrooms, parents discussing the beautiful pool and barbecue area for entertaining friends and family or maybe as simple as changing paint colors. My baby boomer buyers might be downsizing figuring how to place their furniture. Whatever their situation in life is, I love being there with them, part of their story. Now their new home is where cherished memories will be created, maybe a baby takes her first step, first day of school, holiday parties with family, birthday parties for grandparents, children growing up graduating high school. Their home is a safety place, a place to land when they come home from work, spending time with loved ones. And it happens, one day, life changes, new circumstances, and they need to move. Once the movers have driven off, while locking up the house they’ll walk through their vacant home one last time, reminiscing about all their memories, telling me their stories, sometimes with tears in their eyes. And I’m there listening, cherishing the moment. It’s life! It’s always about memories, families being together. This is my why, my passion, what I love doing. Their story will always and continue to be part of my story. I’m so blessed to have the best clients, my forever friends. They know who they are. If you’re considering downsizing, buying your first home, needing a bigger home, call me. I’d love to be there for you every step of the way. Holly Hanlin 661-645-1334.
