A Note From the Publishers – July 2023

July 4th is a time of reflection and appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Founding Fathers and countless others who fought for independence. It serves as a reminder of the enduring values upon which the nation was built—equality, justice, and individual freedoms.
The holiday also fosters a sense of national unity and patriotism, as we come together to celebrate shared heritage, values, and diversity. It is a day of parades, fireworks, picnics, and family gatherings, creating a joyous atmosphere that reaffirms the American spirit.
The 4th of July parade in Old Town Newhall is a cherished tradition in Santa Clarita. It is a vibrant and lively celebration featuring a variety of colorful floats, marching bands, community organizations, and local businesses. Spectators line the streets to enjoy the festive atmosphere and patriotic spirit. It is a time-honored tradition that brings the community together to celebrate Independence Day and pay tribute to the nation’s history and values.
For the past 9-years, we have loved featuring our fabulous Old Town Newhall business owners on our cover and this year is no exception. We are also pleased to feature a group of our City of Santa Clarita Councilmembers, who remind us to shop local and support these businesses. The City of Santa Clarita is pleased to announce the 2023 Fireworks show which will be held at Valencia Town Center. Concerts in the park are back with a wide array of bands performing – check out our calendar on page 40, there is sure to be something you will enjoy with the entire family, so pack up your picnic baskets and head over to Central Park.
