The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – August 2023
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
FELIX
This little one is a star. He is playful yet gentle, affectionate and cuddly, and is happiest in someone’s arms. He gets along great with other dogs his own size and adores everyone. He is just a young pup at 9 months old, and he only weighs 8 pounds. We think a home with another dog would be just right for him, so he has a doggy friend to keep him company. You can see more videos of Felix on our Instagram page, @thebrittanyfoundation. He would make an amazing addition to any family.
BAILEY
This is a tough one all the way around. This sweet girl was adopted from us when she was 5 months old, but unfortunately, her adopter has been suffering horribly from severe allergies. They tried everything to alleviate the symptoms: medications, sprays, air purifiers, you name it, and nothing worked, so they made the painstaking decision to bring her back to us. Bailey is now just a year old, weighs 25 pounds, loves everyone, walks, and is a water dog. And she gets along great with other dogs. She’s perfect!
LARRY
This adorable pup was adopted from us in 2020. Fast forward 3 years, and we were contacted by the people who adopted him and were told that he had bit someone in the home and they wanted to surrender him. We welcomed him back here, where he has been as sweet as can be with all of us. We got him into the vet right away to see if there was something medically wrong. Upon exam, it was determined he had a deep inner ear infection, and bloodwork re-vealed extremely elevated liver levels. We began treating him and quickly noticed other signs that were concerning: a ravenous appetite and increased thirst. After additional days of testing, he was diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease. He is now taking a daily pill to manage his disease. We have continued to monitor his behavior daily for the past several months, and he interacts with everyone on our staff and all of our volunteers perfectly. We do know he would prefer to be the one and only, and we will be looking for an adult-only home for him.
DORA
This little one is a charmer. She loves everyone, rolls over for immediate belly rubs, walks wonderfully on a leash, and her eyes are filled with thoughts of adventure. She is definitely a terrier mix. She looks like a Snorkie, which is a mix of a Miniature Schnauzer and a Yorkie. She weighs just about 10 pounds and is 5 years old. Unfortunately, her family lost their home, and that is why she is with us. We have learned she will do best in a home with no small children or bigger dogs. She’s playful and feisty and would enjoy being the center of someone’s world.
