Get Ready For That EV Charger! – Morff Electric Inc.
With electric vehicles on the rise here are some things to keep in mind to make sure you are prepared. First, make sure you know how many amps your electric vehicle will consume. Second, make sure to check the amperage on your panel. Most homes commonly have a panel that is 100A to 200A. It is important to know this because certain appliances such as air conditioning, heating, water heaters, washers, and dryers can consume much of the existing power with little left over for the EV charger. Upgrading the electrical panel to be able to handle the existing appliances plus the EV charger is very important. Overloading your panel could cause potential strain on your electrical system, not to mention the potential fire hazard. If your electrical panel is old this additional load can cause your panel to fail a lot sooner. If you are not sure if your panel can handle this additional load or have any additional questions give us a call today! We can go through your electrical panel together and ensure it is in good standing so you can be ready for that EV charger. Or if you already checked your panel and just need to install your EV charger, no problem, we are here to help. Visit our website at www.morffelectric.com or call us at 661-755-5318.
