A Note From the Publishers – October 2023

Deputy Clinkunbroomer had come to a halt at a red traffic light when another vehicle pulled up beside his patrol car. Shockingly, without any warning, an individual in that vehicle opened fire, tragically striking Deputy Clinkunbroomer in the head. Despite the immediate response and efforts made, Deputy Clinkunbroomer succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Antelope Valley Medical Center. Later that evening, a suspect was apprehended in connection with this heinous act.
Deputy Clinkunbroomer had faithfully served the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for eight years, carrying on a legacy as a third-generation member of this esteemed agency. He leaves behind his fiancée, parents, and grandparents, all of whom are grappling with this profound loss.
On behalf of the entire Santa Clarita Magazine team, we offer our deepest condolences to Deputy Clinkunbroomer’s family during this incredibly challenging time. We dedicate this issue of the magazine to his memory.
