A Note From the Publishers – December 2023
As we approach the end of the year, I’m thrilled to extend warm holiday wishes to everyone from the Santa Clarita Magazine team!
November was a bustling month for us, as evidence, just take a look at our “On the Town” features throughout this magazine, they are full of people doing great things for our community non-profits. We were fortunate to participate in numerous events in November—a delightful afternoon tea with Circle of Hope, a dazzling display of fashion at the 12th Annual Fashion Show & Brunch hosted by Soroptimist International Greater SCV, the vibrant VIA’s Fire & Ice Ball at the Hyatt Regency, and even procuring a stunning Christmas Tree at the Boys and Girls Club Festival of Trees. These occasions are not just fun but also an opportunity for us to extend our support to local non-profits in any way we can.
In this edition, we’re excited to align with three remarkable non-profits. JCI Santa Clarita needs your assistance for their annual Santa’s Helpers event, take a moment to peruse the drop-off locations and contribute unwrapped toys; they’re also on the lookout for volunteers to help make our local kids’ Christmas extra special.
The dedicated volunteers of The Salvation Army tirelessly collect funds for the homeless, rain or shine. You can join in by volunteering or donating, these funds aid programs that benefit our community.
Last, but by no means least, The Canyon Theatre Guild is celebrating 50 years of exceptional service by bringing top-notch live theatre to our valley. Show your support by attending one of their productions, like the current holiday-themed “Elf: The Musical,” a beloved Santa Clarita tradition. The Canyon Theatre Guild is adorned with festive decor, welcoming theatergoers with live caroling in the lobby and the aroma of hot apple cider.
Old Town Newhall truly enriches our community! Attending this year’s tree lighting was a stroke of luck for us—it was an incredible evening! Thousands of people gathered, enjoying vendors, and the local restaurants were bustling with families from our community, all reveling in a wonderful time together. Kudos to the City of Santa Clarita for orchestrating such a fantastic show!
As the holiday season continues, mark your calendars for the Santa Clarita Master Chorale’s holiday concert on Saturday, December 9—details can be found on page 30.
Within this issue, discover the SCV 40 Under Forty Class of 2023 winners. We’ve dedicated a special section to congratulate these future leaders, starting on page 51.
Look out for the January/February issue of our sister publication élite Magazine, we are excited to announce the winners of our Ultimate Ladies in Business Awards.
Have a safe and happy holiday season!
Sincerely, Linda, Moe and Alexander Hafizi
