The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – February 2024

A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.

ANDY

This adorable Bichon mix was once deemed “rescue only” at a county shelter before we welcomed him into our rescue. Initially, he was quite withdrawn and fearful, but his true personality is now shining through, and he’s acting like a playful puppy. He’s around 2 years old and great with other dogs his size, but he is sometimes nervous around men. He’s generally just a fun, goofy guy who craves attention. We believe he would fit best in an adult-only home or one with older children. If you’re interested in adopting him, please arrange a visit to our rescue in Agua Dulce, CA. You can check out all of Andy’s silly antics on his highlight reel on our Instagram page.

MIA

She is the first dog guests and new volunteers meet when they come here, so that tells you a lot about her. Mia loves everyone! She is with us because her family lost their home, but that was well over a year ago. We so want to find this sweet senior a home of her very own. She takes short leisurely walks but would much rather run around in our play yard. If she could be placed with other animals, we are sure she would have been adopted a long time ago. If you or anyone you know is looking for a solo pibble princess, please send them our way. You can see more videos of Mia and all of our adoptable pups on our Instagram page.

HOLLY

This adorable girl has been with us for 3 years! She was adopted as a puppy from another rescue, then returned to that rescue when she was 5 years old because they started a “family.” Then that rescue shut down, so we welcomed her here. She’s the perfect, medium-sized dog, and while she is not a big fan of other dogs, she is as sweet as can be with all of us. She is happy, independent, loyal, and loving; she just needs a chance.

CHIP

This charming, big bundle of joy was discovered abandoned on a highway with another dog. Both dogs were brought to the Castaic shelter, where the other was quickly adopted. However, Chip’s wait was longer, and he grew increasingly stressed in the kennel environment. Eventually, he was at risk of being euthanized before we welcomed him here. He is a playful American Bulldog mix, around two years old, and a strong-willed dog. We are looking for experienced adopters who can provide Chip with a happy and safe life. For the right adopter, we’ll even cover the costs of Chip’s additional training to ensure a smooth transition. MARLOWE

We rescued him from the South LA Shelter just in time to save him from being euthanized. Despite being surrendered due to behavioral and medical issues after spending 11 years in the same home, he’s been here for 6 months and is quite literally “the life of the party.” He is doing great with everyone and takes no medication. He has energy for days, loves toys, and literally skips on his walks. If you’re looking to add a little excitement to your life and provide a senior dog with a second chance, Marlowe is the perfect companion. Head over to our Instagram page, @thebrittanyfoundation, to see videos of him and all of our adorable pups in need of loving homes.

NICK

This dapper senior likes his own space, but underneath the aloof exterior, he definitely has snuggling potential. We think he’d thrive in a home with another calm dog who can mentor him and show that humans are friends, or with a gentle person or family who is happy to take things slow. He’s deaf but has picked up certain cues, like when his harness is on, he knows he’s going for a walk. He does well with routine and knows exactly when meal time is!

GEORGI

She was left on a property to fend for herself when people moved, which is how she ended up here. She was struggling with boredom here, and we were lucky to recently place her in a foster home where she is thriving. She has adjusted extremely quickly to living in a home. She loves being outdoors, so a big yard or property will be best for her. We think she is around a year and a half and most likely a Border-Aussie, which is a cross between a Border Collie and an Australian Shepherd. She displays all the best qualities of those breeds: clever, affectionate, inquisitive, athletic, and always on the move.

LOUIE

This adorable 2-year-old “Mauzer” (a Maltese and Schnauzer) was surrendered to us when his person became too ill to care for him and there were no family members who could take him in. He was so scared when he first arrived, but he is slowly turning that around. He runs, plays, and walks with other littles here at The Ranch. He’s especially close to Andy, whose positive and confident demeanor has helped Louie become more trusting of humans. While he may still be shy around new people, we’re confident that, with a little patience and a few introductions, Louie will be ready for his forever home soon.
