Welcome Dr. Andréa Winhoffer – The Cat Doctor
Dr. Andréa Winhoffer is excited to join the team at The Cat Doctors and Friends, bringing over 15 years of veterinary experience and an enthusiasm for feline medicine.
Dr. Winhoffer earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Western University of Health Sciences in 2008 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from The University of Florida. While in school, she won the American Association of Feline Practitioners Senior Student Award. Upon graduation, she worked for over seven years at a small animal general practice. During that time, she continued to explore her love of feline medicine which led her to become the go-to veterinarian of a local cat rescue. Dr. Winhoffer then left private practice to work for Best Friends Animal Society in Mission Hills in order to expand on her interest in rescue medicine. Here she served as adoption center veterinarian for almost four years and helped oversee the largest kitten nursery in the nation. Combining her passion for both feline and rescue medicine, Dr. Winhoffer joined Heaven on Earth Society for Animals in 2019. As Medical Director, Dr. Winhoffer balanced her time between two principal roles. Part of her time was spent at the Heaven on Earth Animal Clinic in Chatsworth performing high volume, high quality spay/neuter procedures on at-need cats. The other part of her time was spent at the rescue’s sanctuary, Perry’s Place, where she managed the medical needs of the cats in the rescue’s care.
Dr. Winhoffer enjoys forming relationships with the cats she treats and has special interests in feline pediatric medicine, feline dermatology, and feline reproductive surgery (spay/neuter). To make an appointment call 661-259-5288.
