The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – March 2024
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
OLLIE
Ollie and Ozzie are the cutest senior pair who are with us because the only family they ever had moved and decided not to take them. They are 10 years old and bring new meaning to the word bonded. Ollie is a Yorkie and is considered to have special needs due to EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). This means he needs help digesting proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, so “Viokase” is sprinkled on his food. That’s it; it’s really easy to do. We know it is an expensive medication, so we will help the right adopter with this cost.
OZZIE
This charming little Poodle is bonded to Ollie. She is definitely the guardian of Ollie. She looks out for him, and it’s so sweet. She loves fetch, toys, walks, and just hanging out with people. Ollie and Ozzie have been with us since August, so we really want to find them a kind, loving and forever home where they can live out their golden years together.
MIMI
This sweet, scruffy-faced Terrier is inseparable from Lulu, making them one of the most endearing bonded pairs we have ever had here at The Ranch. They are with us because their person went into hospice care, and there were no friends or family members who could take them in. Mimi is incredibly loving and wants nothing more than to be with people. She loves long walks and has lots of energy since she is only 3 years old.
LULU
Lulu, a petite Chihuahua, relies on Mimi to let her know things are okay. She is definitely the shy one and takes a few minutes to get the courage to meet new people, but once she does, it’s hard to get her off your lap. We were told they were from the same litter, but we are not completely sure on that. In any event, they are both adorable, and there is no doubt they would bring so much joy to any family they join.
SNOOPY
Before we welcomed Snoopy here in 2022, he lived in one home for 8 years before his owner tragically lost his life to illness. He was adopted later that year in what we thought would be his forever home, but unfortunately, he is back with us here at The Ranch through no fault of his own. Our focus now is only on finding him a wonderful and loving home where he can live out his senior years knowing nothing but love and kindness. Snoopy has been doing great since his return. He’s been on a strict diet and exercise program, which has helped him shed some much-needed weight. He has two scheduled long walks daily, but he is always up for another. He’s been good with all the kids that volunteer here too. He is not a fan of other dogs, but that has always been known, and he’s a big “no” to cats. He’s silly, fun, and so loving. He just needs the right new home to give him the life he so richly deserves.
GEORGI
A 2-year-old Border Collie and Aussie mix, Georgi was discovered on an abandoned property before we welcomed her here to The Ranch. Since arriving, she has struggled in a kennel setting, but then we were lucky enough to have a foster family step forward. She has been living in the foster home for the last month, and it couldn’t be going better. She is house-trained, comfortable being on her own without a crate, gets along well with other dogs, and adores everyone she meets! You can see how much Georgi’s charming personality shines by viewing her on our Instagram page.
NICK
This sweet Silky Terrier senior is looking for a kind and gentle home where he can live out his golden years. Nick came from a high kill shelter and then went into a foster home where he thrived. He has returned to The Ranch due to a change in the foster’s schedule. He cohabitates well with other calm senior dogs, and although he is deaf, he responds to cues such as his harness and leash, as he loves leisurely strolls. If you have a soft spot for shy seniors deserving of a fresh start, please think about welcoming Nick into your home.
MIA
This sweet “Pibble” has been with us for over a year and a half. Prior to that, she lived in one home for 7 years, until her owners lost their home. She is loving, kind, and always sees the best in people. She never turns down a treat or a chance to cuddle. Unfortunately, she needs to be placed as the only dog in the home; if not for that, we are sure she would have been scooped up many months ago. Mia is the first dog new volunteers meet at The Ranch, which gives you pretty good insight into her character.
