The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – June 2024
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
HOLLY
She was adopted out as a puppy by a different rescue organization. She later returned to that rescue when her adopted family had children. She then spent a couple of years at that rescue before its closure, and then she was brought here, which was 3 years ago, so she has lived the majority of her life in rescue. She is now 8 years old. Holly is independent, super loving to her human friends, would prefer to be a late sleeper, and lights up with joy for toys. We know finding homes for only dogs is very hard, but maybe one day her perfect person will find her. In the meantime, she adores her volunteer friends who visit every week here at The Ranch, and we are so grateful she has them. You can see so much more of Holly and all the pups who are here waiting for their forever homes on our Instagram page: @thebrittanyfoundation.
CANDY
She was found alone in a neighborhood in Santa Clarita. Her hair was so long and matted that it was impossible to see her body or face. When the kind people who took her in reached out for help, we had no idea what we would find under all that hair. It turns out to be a very young pup, somewhere between 6 and 8 months old, and only weighing 8 pounds. She is playful, loving, and quite literally lights up when a kid is near. Candy can be quite chatty, so we think a house with a yard and another playful furry companion would be the ideal environment for her. She is ready to bring joy and laughter to a family of her very own.
TATE
This darling little terrier was red-listed at the Hesperia shelter and running out of time before we were able to welcome him here a few months ago, along with his sibling Toby, who has already found his forever home. Tate weighs about 12 pounds and is a cross between a Norwich Terrier and a Border Terrier, with maybe a little Cairn thrown in. He’s just an adorable little mix of the terrier class. He walks nicely on a leash and gets along with other dogs. He’s a complete cuddle bug and has been great with everyone here. He’s just a year old and will need a refresher course on house training, but he will undoubtedly become someone’s “heart dog.”
WALDO
He was issued his final plea at the Palmdale shelter in August 2023, just before we were able to welcome him here. The shelter listed his age at 4, but it was soon discovered he had baby teeth, so his estimated age is somewhere around a year. After arriving here, it was noticed he was not tracking toys when people were playing with him. After many vet visits, it was confirmed that he had some serious issues with his sight. He recently had surgery to reattach both retinas, and he is doing great. He will, however, always be farsighted, so he will need an understanding adopter who will help him navigate life this way. Waldo is silly, loves playing with other dogs, and is quite affectionate. Due to his farsightedness, we think it would be best if he were placed in a home with older kids or an adult-only home.
