St. Stephen’s Preschool Instills A Love of Learning
St. Stephen’s Preschool, located in Valencia is a nonprofit half day and full day preschool program, catering to children ages 2-5. Started in 1969, the preschool is the most important ministry of St. Stephen’s church. We offer a play-based curriculum that includes the needs and interests of the children. Led by The Reverend Christopher Montella, chapel is every other week, which helps our children begin to understand their relationship with God.
The classrooms and outdoor environment are a key part of the learning process and enhance the experiences of the children by providing natural elements and activities across all early childhood developmental domains. We feel that all children need an environment that will respect their right to question, experiment and develop at their own pace.
Children work together in both large and small groups and are the catalyst for some of the best experiences at our school. We pride ourselves on a low teacher to child ratio. Our teachers have been with us for years, most of them having had children go through our program.
St. Stephen’s preschool provides an environment rich in opportunity, with our focuses being in social/emotional learning, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math), and language and literacy learning through every day play. As children become comfortable and confident, cognitive development will naturally expand and grow.
Early childhood is a very special time. Our hope is that we instill a love of learning while preparing each child for their next step in learning. We provide support to parents and offer a community where lifelong friendships are facilitated. St. Stephen’s has opportunities for parent involvement and parent education.
Enrollment and tours happen all year round. If interested, please contact Vivien Firta (director) at vivien@st-stephens.org or Teresa Estrada (administrative assistant) at teresa@st-stephens.org for any questions.
