The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – September 2024
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation
of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
Minnie
She loves everyone and everything! We recently pulled Minnie from the Lancaster Shelter, where she was running out of time. She seems to have a lot of Wheaten traits…spirited, affectionate, outgoing, and playful. She would make an amazing addition to just about any home. She is probably around 5, and she weighs 40 pounds. Come meet Minnie, and all of our other adoptable pups at our 30th Anniversary Party on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Go to www.brittanyfoundation.com for details.
Leah & Flash
This adorable tiny bonded terrier pair was recently surrendered to us when their family lost their home. Despite the sudden change in their living situation, Leah and Flash have adapted well and eagerly greet everyone they meet with wagging tails and happy barks. They are good with kids and other dogs. Their combined weight is 13 pounds. These two inseparable little ones are looking for a loving forever home together where they can continue to bring happiness to everyone around them.
Chip
This big bundle of joy was discovered abandoned on a highway with another dog. Both dogs were brought to the Castaic shelter, where the other was quickly adopted. However, Chip’s wait was longer, and he grew increasingly stressed in the kennel environment. Eventually, he was at risk of being euthanized before we welcomed him here. He is a playful American Bulldog mix, around two years old, and a strong-willed dog. We are looking for experienced adopters who can provide Chip with a wonderful life. For the right adopter, we’ll even cover the costs of Chip’s additional training to ensure a smooth transition. Vera
This sassy, fun-loving 8-year-old chihuahua lived in a home, then another home, then was surrendered to the Castaic shelter, where she was scared, struggling, and unfortunately given the “rescue only” tag, which means a rescue had to pull her. Since she has been here with us, she is doing great. She is unbelievably athletic, smart, and quite affectionate. She struggles with other dogs, so we are working with her on that. She is an absolute love and would make a wonderful companion.
Marlowe
He was dumped in the South LA Shelter in January 2023 by the only family he had ever known and was short on time in the shelter before we welcomed him here in August. Every day he is so excited to see everyone, go for his long walk, and then chill enjoying the day. He’s about 11 or 12, still can out-walk every dog here, and lives with our other senior littles.
Sadie
She had been living on the streets of Los Angeles before she was picked up and brought here to safety. She is about 50 pounds, maybe a year old, and her face and ears are giving off definite Australian Kelpie vibes. We are working with her on leash manners, which we know she will pick up in no time. Sadie’s playful, loving nature and intelligence have captured the hearts of all the staff and volunteers. She is an absolute love!
Waldo
He was issued his final plea at the Palmdale shelter in August 2023, just before we were able to welcome him here. The shelter listed his age at 4, but it was soon discovered he had baby teeth, so his estimated age is somewhere around a year. After arriving here, we noticed he was not tracking toys when people were playing with him. After many vet visits, it was confirmed that he had some serious issues with his sight. He recently had surgery to reattach both retinas, and he is doing great. He will, however, always be far-sighted, so he will need an understanding special-needs adopter who will help him navigate life this way. Waldo is silly, loves playing with other dogs, and is quite affectionate. Due to his farsightedness, we think it would be best if he were placed in an adult-only home.
Snoopy
Before we welcomed him here in 2022, he lived in one home for 8 years but tragically his owner lost his life to illness. He was adopted later that year in what we thought would be his forever home, but unfortunately, he is back with us here at The Ranch, due to no fault of his own. He is not a fan of other dogs, but we knew that, and he’s a big “no” to cats. Snoopy’s silliness and loving personality are sure to bring immense joy to his future home.
