A Note From the Publishers – October 2024
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and support for those affected by this disease. In the U.S., about 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. This month, we encourage our community to join the fight against breast cancer by participating in local events and spreading awareness.
We feature three local non-profits on our cover this month, if you can please get involved and mark your calendars for the highly anticipated VIA BASH on October 18 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia! This year’s theme is “Color My World,” promising a night of entertainment and community spirit. Tickets are selling fast, so grab yours today and join them in honoring this year’s incredible nominees for the Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year, and Community Impact Award.
Join Circle of Hope for their 20th Annual Tea: “Seas the Day” on October 19. This cherished event raises crucial funds for breast cancer survivors and those battling cancer. Enjoy a delightful English Tea luncheon, stunning ocean-themed decor, and inspirational speakers. Seating is limited—secure your spot now!
On October 28, swing into action for a great cause at the College of the Canyons Foundation’s annual golf tournament at Valencia Country Club. This event supports scholarships and essential resources for students. Join COC Foundation for a day of golf, networking, and making a difference in our community!
In this issue, are excited to feature our Meet the Candidates section, where we spotlight local candidates and provide a comprehensive voter’s guide for the upcoming California propositions and 2024 ballot measures. Your voice matters—make it heard!

Mark your calendar for the State of the City on October 17 and the exciting SENSES Block Party – Pumpkin Palooza the same night. Celebrate at Bill Miranda’s Tropicana Nights on October 19. Don’t miss Bark for Life on October 20 or City Cinemas on October 25 for a movie under the stars. Join Make A Difference Day on October 26 or enjoy the Abracadabra After Dark magic event that evening. Support the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation’s Poker Tournament and the Finish The Ride events on October 27. Wrap up the month with the Swing for Student Success Golf Tournament on October 28.
