American Cancer Society BARK FOR LIFE Halloween Fundraiser
This month, plan to celebrate a Happy Howl-o-ween with your dog at the American Cancer Society’s fundraiser, Bark For Life, brought to you by the same team that hosts Relay For Life of the Santa Clarita Valley each May. The event takes place on Sunday, October 20, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Canyon Country Community Center (18410 Sierra Hwy, Santa Clarita, 91351).
In honor of the spirit of Halloween, family-friendly costumes for humans and dogs are welcomed and encouraged. Bark For Life celebrates the canine companionship of our four-legged friends, and acknowledges the healing role that dogs serve as companions who comfort us, relieve stress, and lift our spirits.
The family-friendly event features music, vendors, food trucks, raffles, games, a photo booth, and a Trick AND Treat talent show. Contests include a costume parade with many categories of dog and human winners and a peanut butter lick-off. Artist Lauren Airriess will be on hand to draw “Canine Caricatures,” quick sketches of your precious pooch.
In-person registration begins at 9:30am on October 20 at the Canyon Country Community Center. Guests can register one dog for $15, and $10 for each additional dog. Online registration is available at SCVBark.org. Dog registration includes a free goody bag! Guests without a dog are invited to come and enjoy all the activities at no charge.
Bark For Life is an annual event to kick off the new Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley season. All funds raised support the American Cancer Society mission to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families by ensuring everyone has the opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. Come celebrate canine companionship and support the American Cancer Society with a paws-itively fun kick-off event for Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley, to be held on May 3, 2025, at Central Park.
Last year Bark For Life raised over $11,000 to help end cancer as we know it, for everyone! All funds raised support research, advocacy, and patient support.
