A Note From the Publishers – November 2024

by | Oct 31, 2024 | A Note From the Publisher

It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us, with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. Along with many wonderful holiday events, we’re thrilled to share three exciting cover stories in this November issue!
Get ready for a stylish trip back to the roaring twenties with Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley’s 13th Annual Fashion Show and Boutique. On November 17, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, they’ll host the “1920s Speakeasy Revival: Inspiring Hope Through Style.” Expect glamour, entertainment, and a vibrant Speakeasy atmosphere, all while supporting local women and girls through programs like Dream It, Be It, and the Live Your Dream Award. The event kicks off with a boutique at 10:00 AM, followed by an unforgettable fashion show. Dress up in your best flapper or dapper attire and support a great cause!
The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley will host their 22nd Annual Festival of Trees from November 22-24 at the Canyon Country Community Center. This cherished tradition brings the community together to enjoy beautifully adorned trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses, all while raising funds for vital youth programs. The “Magic of the Lights Gala” on November 22 is a must-attend event featuring cocktails, live entertainment, and a live auction. Support the next generation and kick off your holiday season in style!
We are pleased to feature the 2024 Santa Clarita Valley 40 Under Forty Awards! Co-chairs Alexander Hafizi, Brittany Barlog, and Jessica Escorza will help recognize 40 young professionals who’ve made outstanding contributions to our community. The selection committee has reviewed dozens of incredible nominees, narrowing it down to these exceptional individuals. The ceremony will take place on November 23 at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, with a theme celebrating “Hidden Gems of the Last 15 Years.” Be sure to get your tickets at www.scv40underforty.com and join us for a night of celebration, community, and recognition. The event will feature live performances by G3 Band, making it a fun-filled evening to honor our young leaders.
Starting November 8th, Valencia Town Center unveils a brand-new, whimsical Santa Set—a magical destination that will immerse you and your family in the heart of the Christmas season. With twinkling lights and festive details at every corner, it’s a winter wonderland designed to create lasting holiday memories. Whether you’re sharing wishes with Santa, snapping the perfect Christmas photo, or soaking in the enchanting atmosphere, this Santa Set promises to capture the holiday spirit. Join the fun at the Welcome Santa Event on November 9th, complete with family-friendly activities, crafts, and letters to Santa. Make this holiday season unforgettable at Valencia Town Center!
This November also marks the return of the Holiday Care Package Drive by Prayer Angels for the Military. Local youth groups are assembling and sending care packages to troops overseas to ensure they aren’t forgotten during the holiday season. The drive, running through December 8, needs shipping funds and items like snacks, razors, and coffee. Donations can be dropped off or made online at www.prayerangelsforthemilitary.com.
The 2024 Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Holiday Home Tour will celebrate the holidays with the theme “Hearts Aglow.” This year’s event kicks off with a VIP preview on December 4th, followed by the Holiday Home Tour Gala on December 6th, and the Boutique and Tour on December 8th. Funds raised will benefit Roberta G. Veloz Cardiovascular Services, making this an excellent way to give back to the community while enjoying the holiday spirit.
We hope you enjoy this edition and take part in these wonderful events that make our community shine during the holidays!
Until next time!
Sincerely, Linda, Moe and Alexander Hafizi
