Embrace the Holiday Spirit – Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra
On Sunday, December 8, join Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra as they fill the Canyon High School Performing Arts Center with holiday spirit.
“We’re thrilled to present the traditional and beloved holiday favorite The Nutcracker Suite together with some non-traditional versions of holiday favorites,” said Dr. Brian Stone, Artistic Director and Conductor of SCSO. “Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra has commissioned three local composers from amongst our ranks to write new arrangements of seasonal music just for us. Come and taste this new wine in old bottles.”
One of the composers, Regie Espiritu, shared what his piece is about. “I am excited to present a fresh arrangement of the iconic Filipino Christmas song Pasko na, Sinta Ko, which translates to It is Christmas Already, My Love. The song beautifully captures the longing for a loved one who is far away during the Christmas season, and I hope it resonates with the audience.”
SCSO is bringing the flavors of Christmas from around the world, offering holiday treats inspired by different global traditions. All proceeds will go to continue supporting the mission of SCSO; providing top tier classical music to Santa Clarita and beyond.
In a special collaboration, the orchestra is inviting students from Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra to join them for “Sleigh Ride”, by Leroy Anderson.
While snow is starting to fall in some parts of the country, ticket prices are falling in Santa Clarita. For this festive event, tickets start at only $15!
