The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – Jan 2025
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
Waldo
After arriving here from the Palmdale shelter, it was noticed he was not tracking toys when people were playing with him. After many vet visits, it was confirmed that he had some serious issues with his sight. He had surgery to reattach both retinas. He will, however, always be farsighted, so he will need an understanding special-needs adopter who will help him navigate life this way. Waldo is silly, loves playing with other dogs, and is quite affectionate. Due to his farsightedness, we think it would be best if he were placed in an adult-only home. This young pup just needs a chance.
Holly
She was adopted as a puppy from another rescue, returned to them a couple years later when they had kids, lived at that rescue for a few years before they closed, and then we welcomed her here. She has now been with us for over 3 years. She is safe, loved, and a cherished member of our family here, but the goal is always a forever home. She is 8 years old and not a fan of kids or other animals, but she adores everyone who works and volunteers here.
Snoopy
Before we welcomed him here in 2022, he lived in one home for 8 years. He was adopted into what we thought would be his forever home, but unfortunately, it did not work out, due to no fault of his own. He is not a fan of other dogs or cats. Snoopy’s silliness and loving personality are sure to bring immense joy to his future home. He has so much love left to give.
Vera
This spirited and playful 8-year-old Chihuahua has had quite the journey. After living in one home and then another, she was surrendered to the Castaic shelter, where she felt frightened and overwhelmed. Unfortunately, she received the “rescue only” label, indicating that a rescue organization needed to step in. Since joining us, she has thrived remarkably. She is incredibly athletic, full of energy, and shines bright as a star student in her training classes.
Fluffy
This adorable young pup was a “rescue only” from the Castaic shelter before we had the pleasure of bringing him into our home earlier this year. At three years old, he is likely a mix of cocker spaniel and golden retriever. He can be a bit anxious when meeting new people, so we are seeking a potential adopter who can spend some time with him here first. His perfect home would be one without children. Once he gets to know you, he reveals his sweet and playful personality. Be sure to check out his highlight reel on our Instagram page, @thebrittanyfoundation.
Sadie
During the crucial early months of her life, she struggled to survive on the streets of Los Angeles alongside a group of other dogs. When she was rescued, she was placed with a foster caregiver who wasn’t equipped to care for a young puppy, leading to her current situation. Fortunately, she is thriving in her foster home in Acton and is now ready to find her forever home.
Mia
She is the first to greet anyone new who arrives here, revealing much about her gentle spirit. This lovely senior simply seeks a chance to shine. We understand that finding “only dog” homes can be challenging, but we will keep trying. Mia lived in a home for seven years before she found herself here over two years ago. Her heart delights in short strolls and cozy couch snuggles, the simple joys that light up her days.
Clarence
This charming senior pup arrived at the Castaic shelter as a stray and quickly captured the hearts of the volunteers, who couldn’t stand to see him in the bustling environment. Luckily, we were able to provide him with a warm welcome here. He enjoys his days at The Ranch alongside Moe, Larry, and Spice. Like any typical senior, his eyes are somewhat cloudy, and his hearing isn’t perfect, though he can still hear a treat wrapper crinkling from three rooms away.
