Meet Dr. Paul Tran – Tran Institute for Plastic Surgery, Inc,
Dr. Paul Tran grew up in the vibrant suburbs of Washington, D.C., where his passion for medicine began to take shape. He attended the prestigious Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, followed by earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. His dedication to excellence continued at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, where he earned his medical degree and was honored with the James F. Lind Award for Outstanding Student in Surgery.
Dr. Tran pursued his General Surgery residency at EVMS under the mentorship of renowned surgeon Dr. L.D. Britt, a past president of the American College of Surgeons. As a testament to his leadership and skill, he was chosen as the L.D. Britt Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Tran is proudly board certified in General Surgery.
He further honed his expertise at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic, where he trained in Plastic Surgery. Following his training, Dr. Tran remained at the Mayo Clinic as a staff surgeon, contributing to the institution ranked as the #1 hospital in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. It was there that he embraced the Mayo Clinic’s guiding philosophy: “The needs of the patient come first.”
In addition to his practice, Dr. Tran has a profound commitment to giving back. He has participated in multiple charitable missions in Vietnam, performing life-changing reconstructive surgeries, including cleft lip and palate repairs, at no cost to patients.
