The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – February 2025
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
Holly
She was adopted as a puppy from another rescue, then returned to that rescue when they started a “family.” When that rescue shut down, we welcomed her here. Holly has now lived over 5 years of her life in a rescue. She’s the perfect medium-sized dog, and while she is not a fan of other dogs or kids, and can be a little quirky, she is as sweet as can be with all of us. She loves leisurely mornings and greets everyone she meets with a toy and tag wag. We would happily consider a local foster for her too.
Sadie
She spent the critical first few months of her life trying to survive on the streets of Los Angeles with a pack of other dogs. When she was rescued, she was given to a foster that was not prepared to welcome a young pup into the home, which is how she ended up here. Sadie is smart, athletic, and unbelievably loyal. She has loads of energy and would love to find a human companion who can match her love of adventure
Chip
He was running out of time at the Castaic shelter before we were able to welcome him here. But he has already been here for a year and a half. He is a playful American Bulldog mix, around two years old, and strong-willed. We are looking for experienced adopters and we will even cover the cost of Chip’s additional training to ensure a smooth transition. To see more of Chip’s silly personality, check out our Instagram page, @thebrittanyfoundation.
Waldo
After arriving here from the Palmdale shelter, we noticed he was not tracking toys when people were playing with him. After many vet visits, it was confirmed that he had some serious issues with his sight. He had surgery to reattach both retinas. He will, however, always be farsighted, so he will need an understanding special-needs adopter who will help him navigate life this way. Waldo is silly, loves playing with other dogs, and is quite affectionate. Due to his farsightedness, we think it would be best if he were placed in an adult-only home. This young pup just needs a chance.
Marlowe
He was dumped in the South LA Shelter in January 2023 by the only family he had ever known and was short on time in the shelter before we welcomed him here. He’s now been here for 2 years. Every day he is so excited to see everyone, go for his long walk, and chill enjoying the day. He’s about 12 or 13 now, still can out-walk every dog here, and lives with our other senior littles.
Mia
She is the first to greet any new visitors here at Brittany, which speaks volumes about her character. This gentle senior simply needs an opportunity. While it can be challenging to find homes that will take her as the “only dog,” we are committed to continuing our efforts. Mia spent seven years in a home before being surrendered here, through no fault of her own, over two years ago. Her favorite activities include short walks and cozying up on the couch.
Moe
This sweet senior arrived at the Castaic Shelter as a stray in August before finding his way to us. He shares his space with our other small residents: Clarence, Frank, Spice, Scotty, and Larry. He shows little interest in going for walks, maintains a neat living area, and simply desires a calm and serene home to enjoy his golden years. One important note: he is not fond of cats. When he wants to, he can be surprisingly quick!
Vera
This spirited and playful 8-year-old Chihuahua has had quite the journey. After living in one home and then another, she was surrendered to the Castaic shelter, where she felt frightened and overwhelmed. Unfortunately, she received the “rescue only” label, indicating that a rescue organization needed to step in. Since joining us, she has thrived remarkably. She is incredibly athletic, full of energy, and shines bright as a star student in her training classes.
A Little About The Brittany Foundation
2024 marked our 30th year as a 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue and sanctuary. On average we have 50 pups living here at The Ranch in Agua Dulce, CA which is located in the Santa Clarita Valley. Our goal for every dog we rescue is to find a loving forever home, but they have a home here with us for as long as they need it. We set up appointments daily to meet our pups.
