Monthly Message Ken Striplin Santa Clarita Voices Podcast is Now Live!
This past December, the City of Santa Clarita released a brand-new podcast series called Santa Clarita Voices. I have the pleasure of hosting each episode, so tune in as we dive into a range of topics, conversations and insights with special guests including City leaders, businesses and local organizations.
The series kicked off with former Mayor Cameron Smyth as he delved into his experiences with the State Assembly and the Santa Clarita City Council. Tune in to learn about his family’s legacy with our City, and how his father inspired him to run for City Council. Hear him talk about the challenges and the wins of serving at a local level, and how much the City has changed during his career. After a successful first episode, I am pleased to share more exciting content coming your way soon.
This podcast will also hit important topics directly impacting our City. January’s episode welcomes Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Captain Justin Diez and Bridge to Home’s Executive Director Chris Najarro, as we talk about homelessness in the City. We will be discussing the importance of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s annual Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count which has been postponed due to the fires affecting the County of Los Angeles. A new date is pending and will be announced on Count.LAHSA.org. Listen as we review how homelessness has changed throughout the years and what the City is doing to help address these problems for our most vulnerable population.
In February, tune in as we feature the City of Santa Clarita’s Director of Neighborhood Services, Jerrid McKenna, as we discuss some exciting updates about our City’s parks system. To hear all this and more, look for us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, as well as on the City’s YouTube channel, and be sure to subscribe to get a notification when a new episode is released.
