Experience the Romantic Symphony May 10 – Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra
Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra will present a breathtaking spring concert on May 10, 2025, at the Canyon HS Performing Arts Center. Under the baton of prize-winning conductor Dr. Brian Stone, this exciting evening of classical music will feature a program brimming with passion, power, and emotion.
The concert will open with Alexander Borodin’s “Overture” from Prince Igor, a vivid and thrilling introduction to the Russian composer’s nationalistic style. Next, the orchestra will perform Richard Wagner’s “Prelude” and “Isolde’s Liebestod” from Tristan & Isolde, two of the most iconic and emotionally-charged pieces in the operatic repertoire, offering an unforgettable exploration of love, longing, and tragedy. The evening will culminate with Howard Hanson’s “Symphony No. 2” (Romantic), a lush, sweeping work that epitomizes the grandeur and intimacy of the late-Romantic era. Movie enthusiasts will recognize Hanson’s 2nd Symphony from the final scene and end credits of Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979).
This concert promises to be an unforgettable experience for music lovers, showcasing the immense talent of the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra and its commitment to bringing world-class music to the community.
