Your Story is My Story – Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices
When I’m out and about in Santa Clarita, people often stop me to say how much they love my article in the Santa Clarita Magazine, “Your Story is My Story.” It’s a reminder of why I do what I do—helping my clients, who become my friends, navigate the journey of buying or selling a home. Being part of their story is truly what I love and cherish the most.
When I’m showing homes to buyers, I always tell them, “I can’t sell you this house—the house will sell itself, it will speak to you.” My job is to listen to your needs and wants, then show you homes that fit. Sometimes it’s the first house, the ninth, or even the 28th, but when they find the one, they just know. Studies show it takes approximately eight seconds to sense whether a home feels right. How many people have walked in and instantly felt it—without even seeing the entire house? That’s the magical moment. It hits them: This is it.
Then, I watch my clients visually move in. I don’t have to say a word. They start imagining where the Christmas tree will go, picturing family gatherings in the big kitchen, or seeing their kids playing in the backyard. The children race around picking bedrooms, while parents discuss the beautiful pool and barbecue area for entertaining. For my baby boomer buyers who are downsizing, they’re envisioning how their furniture will fit in a cozier space. No matter what stage of life they’re in, I love being part of their journey.
And then, life happens. Circumstances change, and one day, it’s time to move again. After the movers drive off, my clients take one last walk through their now-empty home, reminiscing about the memories made there—first steps, first days of school, holiday gatherings, milestone celebrations. Sometimes, there are tears. I listen, I cherish the moment, and I honor their story.
Because that’s what home is—it’s where memories are made, where families come together, and where life unfolds. And that’s my why. It’s my passion. It’s what I love doing. My clients become lifelong friends, and their stories become a part of mine.
If you’re thinking about downsizing, buying your first home, or needing more space, I’d love to be there for you every step of the way. Even if you’re just considering your future real estate plans, give me a call—I’m always here to listen and help at 661-645-1334.
