A Note From the Publishers – July 2025
Summer has officially arrived in Santa Clarita, and with it comes a vibrant issue filled with celebration, community pride, and exciting local events!
On our cover this month, we are proud to feature the dedicated business owners of Old Town Newhall, joined by our Santa Clarita City Councilmembers. This special tribute is perfectly timed to align with the 93rd Annual 4th of July Parade, which winds its way through the streets of Newhall each year, showcasing our valley’s patriotic spirit and rich local heritage. Did you know the parade has been organized by a committee of hardworking volunteers since 1932? It continues to be one of the longest-running and most beloved traditions in Santa Clarita.
Old Town Newhall is more than just a historic district—it’s a place of creativity, culture, and small business energy. From trendy boutiques to cozy cafés, restaurants, and entertainment venues, it’s a place that blends nostalgia with new experiences. This summer, we encourage everyone to shop local, dine out, and enjoy the cool, unique vibe of Newhall. Your support truly keeps these local businesses thriving.
Following the parade, make your way over to the Valencia Town Center for the City of Santa Clarita’s annual 4th of July Fireworks Show. This spectacular evening event is the perfect way to cap off your day—shop, eat, and find your favorite viewing spot as the night sky lights up in dazzling color.
Inside this issue, you’ll also find our continued Old Town Newhall Special Section, where we highlight the personalities and stories behind the businesses that make this district so special. Also included is our Dining Guide, featuring fifteen must-visit local restaurants, all serving up amazing dishes.
Looking to spruce up your home this season? Flip to page 96 and check out our Home & Outdoor Oasis Guide, where we spotlight professionals who can help turn your vision into reality—whether you’re upgrading your backyard, renovating a kitchen, or planning that long-awaited summer project.
Music lovers, don’t miss the Valencia Marketplace Summer Concert Series, a family-friendly event series offering the perfect soundtrack for warm July evenings. Bring your lawn chairs, grab some snacks, and enjoy live performances under the stars.
And as always, we’re proud to include thoughtful monthly messages from Mayor Bill Miranda and City Manager Ken Striplin, offering their insights into what’s happening across our city. Be sure to also check out our comprehensive Calendar of Events on page 104—there’s no shortage of things to do in Santa Clarita this month!
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our advertisers, contributors, and readers. Thanks to your continued support, Santa Clarita Magazine remains the only monthly publication direct-mailed to 80,000 homes and businesses throughout the valley. We couldn’t do it without you.
Wishing you a safe, happy, and fun-filled Independence Day—and a July full of sunshine and smiles!
Until next time!
Sincerely, Linda, Moe and Alexander Hafizi
