Beyond the Bargains – Assistance League
The recently released Assistance League® of Santa Clarita YouTube video, Beyond the Bargains, has garnered over 1,600 views. The interviews with program recipients regarding the difference clothing, eye care, food security or a scholarship makes in the lives of students are very emotional and heartwarming.
One of the viewers commented that she was familiar with Assistance League and that each chapter has a unique place in their community. This video exemplifies that statement. It provides an overview of the Resale Store that funds our philanthropic programs, the program recipients, the volunteers, the loyal shoppers and the Assisteens® teen guild. After rewatching the video, I am still amazed at the impact our chapter has in this community and the lives that are touched daily.
The second video, Blurry to Bright, is a two-minute short, showcasing the icare for kids program which provides free eye exams and glasses for students whose families do not have access to vision care. For a student, being able to see a whiteboard or read a book is life changing. It builds self-confidence and certainly plays a role in academic success.
Visual storytelling is one more way for Assistance League to connect, engage, build trust and spread awareness of our mission in the Santa Clarita Valley community. In the coming weeks, we will be releasing video shorts highlighting the Resale Store and Operation School Bell. I encourage you to share these YouTube videos and social media posts with family and friends. You can find us at www.YouTube.com/@AssistanceLeagueofSantaClarita.
