Filtration Is Important

Koi pond filtration is super important for keeping the water clean and healthy for your koi fish. They do this with pre-filters, skimmers, and settlement chambers. These superheroes live in special media like porous stones or plastic beads in the filter. They turn the ammonia into nitrite and then into less harmful nitrate. This process is called nitrification, and it makes sure the water is balanced and healthy
The filtration system should do its job of cleaning and oxygenating the water every 1-2 hours. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to clean it out.
