Rescue Exhibition Now Open Through September 1! – Discovery Cube Los Angeles
Get ready to dive into a high-intensity experience where science meets real-life heroics. The all-new Rescue Exhibition at Discovery Cube Los Angeles opened in May and puts families at the center of daring land, sea, and air rescues. Designed to be as educational as it is thrilling, this hands-on exhibition lets visitors of all ages step into the role of a first responder and explore the tools, training, and technology used in real emergency situations.
From piloting a helicopter simulator to racing against time in a jet ski rescue, guests will engage in interactive scenarios that bring STEM concepts to life through action-packed adventure. Visitors can feel the rush of scanning for heat signals with infrared cameras, navigating a smoke – filled room, or delivering flotation devices via drone in a simulated ocean rescue. Along the way, they’ll gain a deeper understanding of the science and decision-making behind emergency response.
The exhibition includes over a dozen immersive zones. Highlights include the Fire Experience Room, where guests crawl through a simulated burning building; the Vertical Rescue Wall, a 360-degree climbing challenge; and the Cliff Walk Illusion, where balance is tested above a digital ravine. Visitors can also take the spotlight at the News Desk Disaster Report, learn essential rescue knots, or explore how firefighters extract passengers from a wrecked vehicle in the Cut the Car demo.
For younger visitors and families, the exhibit also features opportunities to try on real rescue uniforms, interact with dramatic rescue footage, and learn critical water safety strategies like surviving a rip current.
Whether you’re navigating a virtual disaster or climbing into the shoes of a real-life hero, the Rescue Exhibition offers a powerful, hands-on look at what it takes to save lives —and the science that makes it all possible.
The Rescue Exhibition is included with general admission or membership and runs through September1, 2025. For more information, visit discoverycube.org.
