Santa Clarita Master Chorale 25th Anniversary Season
The Santa Clarita Master Chorale, led by Allan Robert Petker, Artistic Director, is proud to announce its 25th Anniversary Season. To celebrate 25 years of bringing fine choral music to our community, we are presenting beloved favorites of the Chorale at our concerts. The grand finale, “Silver Celebration,” will be on Sunday, June 8 at 4:00 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia, CA.
We will present an extraordinary concert, with featured guest Tony® and Emmy® Award- nominated Eden Espinosa. This evening will dazzle you with dynamic works by Beethoven, Orff and our own Allan Petker, the jazz innovation of Will Todd, Broadway favorites, and a new commissioned work by well-known local composer Shawn Kirschner in honor of our 25th Anniversary. You’ll hear a Scottish lilt, a vibrant Swahili call, and from the great American songbook, a joyful hoedown and a traditional spiritual. This milestone event is a celebration of the growth, dedication, and artistic excellence of the Santa Clarita Master Chorale. Join us for this evening of musical splendor as we review and honor our journey with these timeless masterpieces.
Eden Espinosa’s career as an actress, singer, and voice over artist has spanned two decades on stage and screen. She is warmly recognized for her critically acclaimed and iconic portrayals of Elphaba in “Wicked” (Broadway, Los Angeles, and San Francisco), and Maureen Johnson in the closing Broadway company of “Rent”. Eden’s passions also have extended to the development of new works, stemming from her early years originating the title role of the now cult favorite “Brooklyn the Musical” on Broadway to more recently starring in Michael John LaChuisa’s “The Gardens of Anuncia” at Lincoln Center. Eden was honored to have returned to Broadway and to have originated her second titular role, as Tamara De Lempicka. Eden, an in-demand voice over artist, was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work as The Queen of Hearts in Disney’s “Alice’s Wonderland Bakery.“
We are ending our season with a Gala Dinner following our concert. It will be held at the Valencia Hills Clubhouse beginning at 6:45 pm. Our Gala will include a time to honor our Founders, a video retrospective, song from Eden Espinosa, and time to reminisce about all the Chorale has accomplished over these 25 years. Tickets for the Gala are $125 per person and can be purchased through our website.
Established in 1998, the Santa Clarita Master Chorale promotes fine choral music through our yearly concert series, educational enrichment programs and involvement in community-based arts platforms. The Chorale performs works selected from a wide range of choral repertoire to the delight of audience members of all ages.
