Stay Cool and Water Wise This Summer – Bob’s Rooter & Plumbing
Happy July, Santa Clarita! Summer is in full swing, and with the heat soaring, we’re all using more water—whether it’s to keep our gardens green, cool off with a sprinkler, or stay hydrated. But all that water use can put a strain on your plumbing, so I wanted to share some tips to keep everything running smoothly this summer.
One of the most common plumbing issues we see in July is water pressure problems. With everyone running sprinklers and filling up pools, your home’s water system can become overloaded, leading to low water pressure or inconsistent flow. If you’re noticing weak showers or taps that don’t deliver the usual stream, it’s worth checking for hidden leaks or blockages. A professional inspection can help catch issues before they cause major disruptions.
Speaking of leaks, now is a great time to check for any unnoticed drips or water waste. Dripping faucets, running toilets, and even small leaks in your irrigation system can add up over the course of the summer, costing you both water and money. If you hear a running toilet or spot a damp spot on the floor, don’t ignore it! A quick fix now can save you from a bigger repair down the road.
And with summer barbecues and gatherings, your kitchen sink and garbage disposal are getting a lot of use. Be mindful of what you put down the drain—grease, oils, and fibrous foods like corn husks and potato peels can cause major blockages. Remember, your disposal is for small scraps, not large chunks of food.
At Bob’s Rooter & Plumbing, we want you to enjoy the summer without worrying about plumbing headaches. If you need help with anything from leak detection to water heater maintenance, don’t hesitate to call. We’re here to keep your plumbing flowing smoothly all season!
Wishing you a fun, cool, and worry-free July!
