Finding Purpose as We Age – Oakmont Senior Living
Having a sense of purpose becomes increasingly important as we age – not just for emotional fulfillment but also for physical and cognitive health. There are evidence-based studies that show how purpose-driven activity can add years to one’s life.
At Oakmont of Valencia and Oakmont of Santa Clarita, we specialize in creating exciting and meaningful experiences that involve a sense of purpose. Our residents have volunteer opportunities to make a positive impact on others such as participating in The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in just a few weeks. They also find joy in making care packages for people undergoing hardships, growing herbs, fruits, and vegetables in our raised garden beds which our culinary team uses for all to enjoy, or just being part of a welcoming group when a new resident moves in. The rewards that come from being needed are priceless.
Speaking of purpose and exciting reasons to rise every morning, check out the Facebook pages for Oakmont of Valencia and Oakmont of Santa Clarita to see how we spent our summer! Have a look at the multiple celebrations, shoreline excursions, museums we visited, restaurants we enjoyed, and the events we attended. If your purpose today is to help someone find joy, visit Oakmont of Santa Clarita or Oakmont of Valencia. To schedule a tour, please call (661) 568-6080 and ask for Megan or Jason!
