Get Involved With American Cancer Society
September may usher in the end of summer and the beginning of pumpkin spice lattes, but it is also a month that highlights cancer awareness. The American Cancer Society has designated September as the awareness month for Blood Cancer, Childhood Cancer, Gynecological Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Prostate Cancer, and Thyroid Cancer.
The aim behind these awareness months is to alert the public about preventive measures that can lessen the risk of developing cancer. It’s also to generate research funding to find more—and better—treatments, to uncover factors that may cause cancer, and to improve cancer patients’ quality of life. The American Cancer Society is the only organization that integrates advocacy, research, and patient support to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.
For these reasons, Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley invites you to share the work of the American Cancer Society and personally impact the fight against cancer.
The new website for the 2026 Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley is now up and running. The event will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Central Park. More than just a walk, Relay For Life brings together passionate supporters who embody the American Cancer Society’s vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Sign up now at www.scvrelay.org and access resources to get started. Join an existing team or lead your own team. Recruit family and friends to help you generate fundraising ideas. It is never too early to sign up for Relay For Life and help save lives.
Thanks to the support of our Relay team captains, participants, staff, and volunteers, we’ve helped the American Cancer Society fund lifesaving research, crucial patient services, education and prevention initiatives that have helped millions of people—and we have no intention of slowing down. That’s why we need people like you to join us. We can’t do this without you. Any way you choose to get involved will help us save lives from cancer.
