September: Fall Into Plumbing Maintenance Bob’s Rooter & Plumbing
As September rolls in and we start to feel the cool breeze of fall, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about the upcoming season and what that means for your home’s plumbing. While we’re still enjoying warm days, fall is just around the corner, and there’s no better time to take care of plumbing issues before the cooler weather sets in.
One thing I always recommend this time of year is checking your water heater. After a busy summer of running through hot showers, dishwashers, and washing machines, your water heater might need a little TLC. Flushing the tank can remove sediment buildup, making your heater run more efficiently and prolonging its life. If your water heater is showing signs of age—strange noises, inconsistent temperatures, or it’s over 10 years old—it might be time to consider a replacement.
As the weather cools down, it’s also important to prepare your pipes for winter. Even though we don’t get freezing temperatures like other parts of the country, our winter nights can still cause pipes to freeze. Make sure your outdoor hose bibs are insulated, and check for any leaks around your foundation or exterior walls that could lead to frozen pipes.
Finally, if you have a fireplace, chimney, or gas-powered appliances, it’s a good idea to check for any gas line issues. These can be easy to overlook during the warmer months, but a quick inspection can keep your home safe and cozy as the colder weather arrives.
At Bob’s Rooter & Plumbing, we’re always here to help you stay ahead of potential plumbing problems. If you need an inspection, repair, or just some advice on keeping your home running smoothly this fall, give us a call (661) 295-5520!
Wishing you a smooth transition into fall with happy, healthy pipes!
