Valencia Car Wash Celebrates 40 Years of Service!

Valencia Car Wash has begun the early celebration of its 40th anniversary, honoring four decades of service, deep community roots, and the lasting legacy of its founder, Charles “Chuck” Sockett.

When Chuck opened Valencia Car Wash in 1988, it was the first car wash in Valencia; back then Santa Clarita was known for Six Flags Magic Mountain and farming. “Back then, long before the shopping centers, Starbucks, and neighborhoods we know today a lot of the areas people drive through every day were still onion farms,” recalls Jeffrey Paul, Chuck’s partner and son in law. “Chuck had a vision to serve this growing community, and we have been cleaning cars with pride and purpose ever since.”

Chuck, a decorated U.S. Marine who fought in World War 2 at Iwo Jima and served in the Korean War, built the wash on a foundation of Friendliness, Cleanliness, Honest Values, and Sustained Quality of Service. His dedication to service; both to his country and his customers—set the tone for everything that followed.

Today, Valencia Car Wash is still proudly family-owned and operated by Chuck’s grandson Gregory Paul, and Jeff’s nephew, Joshua Block, who remain committed to the same core values. A memorial flagpole and plaque was recently dedicated on the property, honoring Chuck’s legacy and reminding visitors of the man who started it all.

“My grandfather was tough but he believed in doing things right; whether it was serving his country or washing a car,” said Greg. “That commitment still drives everything we do.”

The longevity of the team speaks volumes. Some of the wash’s Detailers and Lube Technicians were personally hired by Chuck in the 1990s and are still part of the crew today. “This is a great place to work,” said manager Sandra, who has led the team for years. “The atmosphere, the support, and the generosity of our customers make it a place people want to stay.”
