Defy Gravity at SIGSCV’s 14th Annual Fashion Show: A Masquerade in the Emerald City of Dreams
Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley (SIGSCV) invites you to follow the Yellow Brick Road to an unforgettable evening of fashion, community, and purpose. On Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., the Hyatt Regency Valencia will come alive with color and spirit for our 14th Annual Fashion Show & Boutique.
This year’s theme, Defy Gravity: A Masquerade in the Emerald City of Dreams, adds new dimension to a cherished tradition. The evening will feature an elevated experience, beginning with a sponsor garden reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by a full program that blends runway glamour with purpose-driven celebration.
After guests explore the boutique and settle in for the evening’s main event, they’ll be treated to a high-energy production featuring fashion-forward designs from local favorites including In Good Company, White House Black Market, J. David’s Custom Clothiers, Hazel’s Bagz & Apparel, Form + Content, Care Tucker, and Propinquties—brought to life by inspiring community models. The night concludes with dancing under the stars—an open-air celebration for all attendees.
“This year’s event is a celebration of possibility,” says Chair Lissa Mahler. “Behind every dazzling dress and sparkling mask is a woman or girl with a story of strength, resilience, and hope—and our mission is to make sure she is seen, supported, and celebrated.”
Proceeds from the event support SIGSCV’s core programs: Dream It, Be It, which provides mentorship and career education to local high school girls—we proudly hosted six career conferences across the valley last year—and the Live Your Dream Award, through which we granted 17 awards to women in our community pursuing higher education while serving as their family’s primary providers. These programs represent both our local impact and our global mission, creating opportunities that empower women and girls to thrive.
To deepen the connection between our mission and those who support it, SIGSCV is introducing a flexible new sponsorship model. Donors can now tailor their sponsorship to reflect the impact areas that matter most to them. Sponsorship levels include the Wizard Sponsor (Presenting Sponsor), Emerald City Sponsor, and Glinda Sponsor, each offering a range of benefits and visibility throughout the event. Program-level sponsorships include the Ruby Slipper Sponsor, supporting the Live Your Dream Award, and the Yellow Brick Road Sponsor, benefiting the Dream It, Be It program. Each sponsorship package offers unique opportunities to connect your generosity with meaningful local and global impact. For full details, visit our event site at https://auctria.events/SIGSCVFashionShow or contact SIGSCV President Luana Smith at President@sigscv.org .
“Our community has always shown incredible heart,” says Smith. “This year, we’re making it even easier to turn that passion into real-world change. Every dollar raised helps women and girls right here in Santa Clarita—and beyond.”
This year’s model contest fundraiser also returns, allowing the public to cast votes through donations and event ticket or sponsorship purchase. Community members can follow SIGSCV’s social media to vote and support their favorite participant, with all funds going toward program efforts.
A curated raffle will take the place of the traditional live auction, offering guests a chance to win themed baskets, gift packages, and local experiences. The evening promises surprises, connections, and plenty of reasons to smile.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the energy—a blend of celebration and service, elegance and empowerment. Whether you’re a longtime attendee or joining us for the first time, this is more than a fashion show. It’s a night to uplift, connect, and move forward together.
Tickets and sponsorships are available now at https://auctria.events/SIGSCVFashionShow. For questions, email fashionshow@sigscv.org , and follow SIGSCV on Facebook and Instagram for event updates and model contest details.
