Bridge to Home’s 2nd Annual Turkey TROT Returns Supporting Local Families
On Saturday, November 15, 2025, Bridge to Home will host its 2nd Annual Turkey TROT at The Paseo Club in Valencia, inviting the Santa Clarita community to lace up their sneakers, get festive, and come together for a cause that touches hundreds of lives across the valley.
What started as a spirited community fundraiser in 2024 has already grown into a heartwarming tradition. Last year’s event brought together over 200 participants and raised critical funds to support people experiencing homelessness. This year, we hope to make an even bigger impact—with a fundraising goal of $50,000 to directly benefit Bridge to Home’s Family Programs, which serve local families with children who are navigating housing instability.
“Our first Turkey Trot showed the incredible power of this community when we come together for a cause,” said Alec Weichel, Bridge to Home Board Member and Turkey Trot Event Chair. “This year, we’re raising the bar and every dollar raised will support families in Santa Clarita working to rebuild their lives.”
More Than a Race—A Pathway to Hope
The Turkey Trot isn’t just a fun run. It’s a symbol of what’s possible when a community unites behind its most vulnerable members. Funds raised from the event go directly toward housing assistance, case management, meals, and essential services for families experiencing homelessness.
In the past year alone, Bridge to Home has:
• Provided support to more than 1,250 households
• Served over 80,000 meals
•Helped 104 families and individuals transition into permanent housing
These milestones are not just statistics—they’re stories of transformation made possible by donations, volunteers, and community events like the Turkey Trot.
A Morning of Festivities and Family Fun
The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with registration, followed by a brief opening program at 8:30 a.m. The trot officially begins at 9:15 a.m., welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels to walk, jog, or run in the name of giving.
Participants will receive a commemorative Turkey Trot t-shirt, a light breakfast, and a raffle ticket for prize drawings. The event will also feature:
• Pumpkin painting and turkey-themed crafts for kids
•Spirted Team competitions and Awards for:
– Top three fundraising teams (each receives a Thanksgiving turkey)
– Best Turkey-Themed Costume
Organizers expect over 350 attendees this year and are encouraging early registration, as the event continues to grow in popularity.
How to Get Involved
You can register solo or with a team, donate to support a participant, or become an event sponsor. Every way you participate helps local families enter the holiday season with dignity and the security of a safe place to call home. The Turkey Trot is also a joyful opportunity for families, friends, and groups to come together, celebrate the season, and make a meaningful impact in the community.
“It’s more than just a race—it’s a chance to give families the hope, warmth, and stability they deserve heading into the holidays,” said Weichel.
