Operation Thank Our Troops Holiday and Winter Care Packages
The Community of Santa Clarita is proudly remembering our local troops overseas with care packages for the holidays and winter. Help out, if you can. Let’s show our appreciation and put some smiles on those faces. Christmas and Hanukkah packages will be assembled and mailed out during the month of November through December 7th to arrive for the holidays. Winter packages will continue to be mailed throughout the month of January, followed by monthly and holiday mailings. This heartfelt community effort has been proudly hosted by the local 501c3 non-profit Prayer Angels for the Military, Inc. for over 20 years.
Shipping funds are badly needed, at about $23 per box, along with items to fill the boxes. Cards of appreciation to our troops, from all ages, are also needed to go inside the care packages.
Most needed items are Jerky, Slim Jims, cheese & beef logs, sugar-free gum & hard candy, candy bars, peanut butter and jams (plastic jars), Ritz type crackers, canned no bean chili & hearty soups, Top Ramen (not in foam cups). Single serving snacks: trail mix, nuts, granola & protein bars, cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, cookies, tuna & chicken kits, Little Debbie/Hostess cakes (min.3wk exp.dates), pudding & fruit cups, chips, fruit snacks, hot cocoa & oatmeal packets, drink packets for water bottles/sugar-free (Propel), thick cotton crew socks (black or white), winter scarves, beanies & gloves (no bright colors), hand warmers (air activated), throws & quilts (no bright colors), 3-4 blade razors, men’s body wash, men’s solid deodorant, mouthwash, Ziploc bags (gal & qt) for packing, soft toilet paper, AA & AAA batteries, small puzzles or games.
