A Note From the Publishers – Nov 2025
I rarely share personal stories in this space, but this month is different. On October 20th, my dear sister Lorraine passed away after a brave, two-year fight against cancer. Living 6,000 miles apart in England made it even harder to say goodbye, yet her presence was always near in my heart and thoughts.
Lorraine was a rare soul — full of warmth, courage, and kindness that touched everyone she met. Even in her darkest days, she carried herself with grace and a gentle strength that inspired everyone around her. Her smile could light a room, and her love for family was endless. She shared 49 beautiful years with her husband, Phillip, building a life filled with laughter, devotion, and quiet joy.
She was a mother who poured her heart into her children — Gemma, married to Paul, with their son Jackson; Adam, and partner Vicki, with daughters Rosalie and Ellamae; and Ross, with his son Reggie. They adored her, as she adored them, and the bond they shared was a reflection of her loving spirit. My sister, Elaine, her daughter Kate and her husband Andy and son Charlie and I, along with my husband Moe, our son Alex, and his husband Arnold, will miss her profoundly.
This past week has been one of sorrow and reflection, trying to balance grief with the demands of life and work. Yet in the midst of this sadness, I find comfort in remembering the woman Lorraine was — courageous, compassionate, and full of life. Her spirit lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the love of her family, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.
As we enter November, a season of gratitude and reflection, I dedicate this issue of Santa Clarita Magazine to my sister Lorraine. May her courage, her love, and her radiant heart remind us all to treasure every moment, embrace those we love, and live with the kind of grace she showed every day of her life.
In remembering Lorraine, may this serve as a gentle reminder to take care of yourselves. Schedule those checkups, stay current on screenings, and pay attention to how you feel — physically and emotionally. Early detection truly can save lives, and caring for your own well-being is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself and those who love you.
Until next time!
Sincerely, Linda, Moe and Alexander Hafizi
