Volunteer with American Cancer Society and Make a Difference
The holiday season is a time to celebrate the blessings of family and friends, a time to reflect on what we are grateful for. As the year comes to a close, it is also a time to consider what is meaningful in our lives and what kinds of commitments we want to make. Sharing our time and energy to work toward something we believe in makes life purposeful. Giving of ourselves is one of the most rewarding ways to express our passions and values. When we serve others, we gain insights into ourselves, discover our strengths and increase our compassion for others.
The American Cancer Society of Santa Clarita Valley invites you to get involved in the coming year. Choosing to actively participate will help ACS achieve its mission— to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
There are many opportunities to take leadership roles. Volunteers can work in the ACS Discovery Shop, provide rides to cancer patients needing treatment, or become Relay For Life team leaders or members. Making this commitment helps to promote awareness about cancer, fund research to find a cure, and support those going through cancer treatment.
The American Cancer Society is 98% volunteer run, and our local ACS chapter couldn’t achieve its goals without the dedication of our community. ACS would like to express its gratitude to those community members who have provided generous donations, sponsorships, and tireless support. It’s inspiring to have so many volunteers, donors, and community leaders creating partnerships that work toward saving lives every day.
Becoming a volunteer, making a tax-deductible donation, or participating in a fundraising event contributes to this worthy cause. There is no better way to end the year than by making a commitment to give back to our community. Help ACS end cancer as we know it for everyone.
