Hearts for Heroes Thanking First Responders & Troops Care Packages
Santa Clarita community showing love and appreciation for their Hometown Heroes with the 22nd Annual Hearts for Heroes collection drive. A simple and meaningful way to say “Thank You” for protecting us every day. Organized by the local non-profit Prayer Angels for the Military, Inc. and taking place from 1/1/26 – 2/13/26. Suzon Gerstel, CEO said “this expression of gratitude, from all ages, puts a thousand smiles on a thousand faces!”.
Everyone’s encouraged to participate. Local businesses, youth groups, schools, churches, the entire community. A lot of cards are needed (handmade or store bought) to say Thank You or Happy Valentine’s Day. These heartfelt cards will go to Sheriff’s Deputies, CHP, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, deployed troops and veterans. Donations are also needed to fill care packages for deployed troops. Gift bags are made for local veterans in need.
The most needed items for the care packages are: Individually packaged snacks like Jack’s Beef & Cheese Sticks (a favorite), Slim Jims, Jerky, trail mix, peanut butter or cheese crackers, nuts, cookies, chips, drink packets for water bottles (like Propel, Zero Gatorade), Valentine’s Day treats, 3 blade razors, shave gel or cream, thick cotton crew socks (blk or wht), Mechanix type work gloves, specialty coffee (1lb bags), Top Ramen, note pads, Blank cards to write home, crosswords. See full list at website.
Tax-deductible donations can be mailed to Prayer Angels for the Military, 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321, or donate online/PayPal: www.PrayerAngelsForTheMilitary.com. Items can be dropped off at same address (24/7 bin). Contact Suzon for info, dates, or to add your troops name to the list. Email: PrayerAngelsForTheMilitary@yahoo.com, 661-799-8865
