JAKE: The Loverboy – Animal Tracks

Jake, our irresistible Umbrella Cockatoo, strutted into Animal Tracks in January 2018 at the age of 42, and instantly proved his previous owner wildly wrong. He’d been surrendered for “screaming too much,” but the moment he arrived, we discovered the truth: Jake isn’t a nuisance…he’s a total lovebug! A feathered Casanova! A cuddling champion wrapped in white fluff and mischief!
From day one, Jake made it clear what he lives for…LOVE. This boy doesn’t just enjoy affection; he requires it the way most people require Wi-Fi. Call his name, and he comes fluttering over like you’re the only human on earth. The second he lands on you, you’re done for. He leans in, presses his head against your cheek or neck, and starts those soft, rhythmic tongue clicks that are basically his version of whispering, “I adore you!”
Jake is the king of leaning. Head-leaning…cheek-leaning…full-body “I’m just going to mold myself into you” leaning. If he could Velcro himself to his favorite people, he absolutely would.
He shares his home with three other birds—Cami, the dramatic Moluccan, Lava Girl, the African Grey Parrot, and Casper, the tiny-but-mighty Goffin’s. And while Jake likes them, let’s be honest: he does NOT appreciate when they get attention before he does. 
Despite not talking, Jake expresses himself in all kinds of ways…happy dance-shuffles, content wing droops, affectionate clucks, and yes, the occasional ear-splitting screech (he has to maintain his title of Best Screecher in the Flock, after all). One of his funniest quirks? He LOVES heavy metal. Put on some rock and Jake instantly becomes a head-banging, feather-fluffing concert-goer.
But above all his antics, Jake’s heart is what makes him unforgettable. He loves big, he loves boldly, and he loves often. If you’ve met him, you’ve been chosen. If he leans his head against you? Congratulations…you’ve been adopted by Jake! 
And as you can see in the photo… he’s happiest exactly where he believes he belongs: right on your shoulder, soaking up every ounce of love he can get!
