LOCAL NONPROFIT FACTS
SANTA CLARITA VALLEY
The Santa Clarita Valley is home to a strong, generous, and deeply connected nonprofit community. From long-established organizations that have served the Valley for decades to newer grassroots efforts addressing emerging needs, local nonprofits play a critical role in supporting residents and enhancing quality of life throughout our community.
How Many Nonprofits Are in SCV?
Santa Clarita is supported by well over 100 active, locally based nonprofit organizations, with estimates reaching 200 or more nonprofits registered or operating in the area. These organizations vary widely in size and scope — from all-volunteer groups driven by passionate residents to larger nonprofits with staff, facilities, and year-round programming that serve thousands annually.
What Do Local Nonprofits Do?
Nonprofits in the SCV serve nearly every corner of the community, including:
• Food assistance, housing support, and family services
• Youth programs, education, mentoring, and enrichment
• Senior services, wellness programs, and caregiver support
• Physical and mental health resources
• Animal rescue and welfare
• Arts, culture, and community-based programs
Together, these organizations support residents at every stage of life and often respond quickly to local challenges and changing needs.
Powered by Community Support
Many local nonprofits are 501(c)(3) organizations, meaning donations are often tax-deductible. Nearly all rely on volunteers, donors, sponsors, and local business partnerships to continue their work and expand their impact.
